SCADA and OMS integration without leaving the HMI

Fieldiq reads field asset telemetry from your SCADA master station and pushes anomaly alerts back into your SCADA alarm display — so operations center staff see condition intelligence alongside protection alarms, without switching applications.

SCADA integration architecture

Most utilities are not starting from a blank slate. This documents the practical integration path for adding field-asset telemetry to a SCADA environment that already has DNP3 polling, historians, and OMS workflows.

  • DNP3 telemetry read from SCADA master

Fieldiq connects to the SCADA master station as a secondary master or polling client, reading field asset point data directly from the existing DNP3 polling infrastructure. No new outstation configuration required.

  • Anomaly alert write to SCADA alarm list

Fieldiq outputs condition alerts as DNP3 binary change events or OPC-UA write operations back to the SCADA master. Alert severity maps to SCADA priority levels (Critical, Warning, Normal) in your existing alarm display configuration.

  • OMS feeder context

Fieldiq reads feeder topology and outage history from OMS to enrich asset health scoring with geographic outage impact — assets on critical feeders or high-load circuits receive elevated priority scoring.

  • Network segmentation compliance

Fieldiq's SCADA integration uses unidirectional data flow from OT to Fieldiq for telemetry, and a separate controlled path for alert write-back. Firewall rules and network segment documentation provided during integration planning.
